Meet Carole Anne — In Her Own Words

Both sides of my family have lived on the same three blocks for 80 years, in Manhattan for 115 years, and across the boroughs for over a century. From the Bronx to Queens, my roots run deep. It’s my turn to give back. I’m not a politician or a lawyer. I bring 30+ years of experience in New York’s largest industries and employers — hospitality. I have chaired two professional associations and i speak six languages. In a city this diverse, communication matters.

Political experience with independence. I’ve been around politics my whole life, representing Americans abroad at the Democratic National Committee. Even my doctor who was a doctor for a famous New York sports team said: “Carole, you should run for Mayor.”

I bring proven instincts and a new vision. In March 2020, I saw the danger of petitioning during COVID and i lobbied Governor Cuomo to change the number of signatures needed and to get on the primary ballet. He finally adopted my suggestions. Leadership means acting early, putting health and safety first, and having the courage to speak up. Why a write-in campaign? The system is broken. Candidates can “win” with fewer total votes than those cast against them. New York deserves runoffs — round one, round two — not confusion. Petitioning has become an expensive industry designed to shut out voices like mine. I refuse to buy my way in.

This campaign is about choice. Just like Alaska showed when voters wrote in Senator Murkowski, New Yorkers can take back their democracy.

Write me in — for a stronger and a better New York.

A Different Kind of Candidate

I am not a politician or a lawyer. Instead, I bring over thirty years of experience in New York’s largest industry — hospitality — the backbone of our city’s economy. I’ve chaired two professional organizations and speak six languages (plus “text,” as I like to joke). To me, being able to communicate in the language of New York’s communities is essential for any leader.
Though not a career politician, I have been involved in politics for as long as I can remember. I was elected by Democrats Abroad to represent Americans living overseas at a Democratic National Committee meeting. I’ve been encouraged to run for mayor before — even by my own doctor, a Republican and a team doctor for a major New York sports franchise, who told me years ago: “Carole, you should run for Mayor.”

Why I’m Running as a Write In

I am running for mayor as a write-in candidate to protest a broken system. How is it possible that a candidate can “win” with fewer votes than those cast against them?

New York City needs runoff elections — true second rounds — not ranked-choice confusion. I’ve lived in four European countries, and every one of them has runoffs: round one, round two, even round three until a winner is chosen. This system gives voters more time to truly understand the candidates, and gives candidates a fair chance to earn that support.

Petitioning for the ballot has also become its own industry — costly, time-consuming, and stacked against independent voices. I’ve fought for change, but the system continues to block outsiders with vision and integrity. That’s why I’m turning directly to you, the people.

This campaign is about choice, voice, and democracy. Let’s take a page from Alaska — remember Senator Murkowski — and show New York that voters still have the power to write in the leader they want.

Write me in — let’s make New York even more robust, equitable, and fit together.

Let's stand together to elect a woman

Vote for Carole Anne Seidelman so we can experience a better
New York under a woman’s leadership. It is time.

A Record of Speaking Up for New Yorkers

When I saw danger in the petitioning process during the COVID-19 pandemic, I acted. In March 2020, I lobbied Governor Cuomo and leaders across New York State for eight days to stop the spread of the virus through in-person signatures. When the Governor announced petitioning changes on March 14, he used my words — though I received no credit. Still, I knew my instincts were right, and it proved I had the foresight and leadership New York needs.
For me, health comes first. Leadership means protecting New Yorkers and making tough decisions before others even recognize the risks.
